ECTARC Service Types

ECTARC manages 10 community owned early education and care services, which includes 6 long daycare service, 2 occasional care services and 2 multipurpose services in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.

Long day care is a centre-based service for children aged from birth to age five, that provides education and care programs for families who require longer hours.

All ECTARC long day care services offer a play-based early learning program, guided by the national Early Years Learning Framework that extends and enriches children’s learning from birth through to school age.

All long day care services offer an integrated preschool program which is delivered by a degree qualified teacher to support each child’s successful transition to school.

Long day care centres are eligible for the Commonwealth Government’s Child Care Subsidy. Our long day care services typically operate 7am -6pm, dependent on community needs and all meals are generally provided.

ECTARC occasional care services provide flexible care which allows parents to meet their work-related and non-work-related commitments. Families can access OCC regularly on a sessional or irregular basis.

All ECTARC occasional care services offer a play-based early learning program, guided by the national Early Years Learning Framework that extends and enriches children’s learning from birth through to school age.

All services offer an integrated preschool program which is delivered by a degree qualified teacher to support each child’s successful transition to school.

Occasional care services are eligible for the Commonwealth Government’s Child Care Subsidy.

ECTARC multi-function services provide both preschool and long day care funded sessions for children 2 to 5 years, providing flexibility for families.

All ECTARC multi-function services offer a play-based early learning program, guided by the national Early Years Learning Framework that extends and enriches children’s learning from birth through to school age.

All children enrolled in an ECTARC multi-function services access the preschool program which is delivered by a degree qualified teacher to support each child’s successful transition to school.

The preschool session is a shorter day than long daycare and is closely aligned to the NSW school terms. Eligible families receive a fee reduction through the NSW Government Start Strong funding program.

In our multi-function services the long day care session is for the whole day and operates throughout the year. Eligible families can access the Commonwealth Government’s Child Care Subsidy to receive a fee reduction.
