ECTARC Alunga Education and Care Service
ECTARC Alunga, is located on Robyn Road, a quiet street in Albion Park Rail. We are a short walk from Albion Park Rail Primary School and Albion Park Train Station. We have off street parking and lane way access from the Princes Highway.
Educators embrace the Circle of Security relationships model to develop partnerships with children and families based on mutual trust and respect. We are committed to quality outcomes for children and advocate for learning through play in an environment where they feel safe, valued and included. Educators work collaboratively to implement teaching strategies that are responsive to children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
The service consists of two learning environments which cater for children birth to 3 years and 3 – 5 years, with outdoor areas containing vegetable gardens, sandpits, outdoor play kitchen, a water pump and decked and undercover play areas to encourage children to explore and engage with the natural environment. Indoor and outside programs are carefully planned based on children’s interests, strengths and needs. We have a kitchen where nutritious meals are prepared daily, catering for specific dietary requirements when required.
Alunga acknowledges families as children’s first educators, and we develop collaborative goals with families to promote children’s learning and development. The Early Years Learning Framework guides the curriculum to foster children’s development in all areas based on this collaborative knowledge of individual children. School readiness experiences are provided for those children about to head to ‘Big School’. Information about the children’s experiences each day is shared with families via our online program
We provide valuable opportunities for children to engage with members of the local community including through our partnerships with the local nursing home (with regular visits) and primary school and foster a culture of inclusiveness, empathy and respect.
We are the only community owned Education and Care service catering for children 0-5 years in the Albion Park area.
