Smart and Skilled Funded Courses

NSW Fee Free waivers (July to December 2024) will cease for enrolments after 19 August 2024. Funding is still available for all courses, however student fees will apply.

If you are interested in starting an early childhood career or upgrading your current qualification you should consider taking advantage of the significant savings offered via the Smart and Skilled funded distance courses. This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. The NSW Government offers the Smart and Skilled funded courses below through Training Services NSW and ECTARC.
Are you:
– 15 years old or over?
– no longer at school?
– living or working in NSW?
– an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen?
If you answered ‘Yes’ to all four questions, then you’re eligible to enrol in a government-subsidised course with an approved Smart and Skilled training provider.

NSW Skilling for Recovery – Fee-Free Training
Skilling for Recovery is the NSW initiative for the delivery of JobTrainer funding in NSW. NSW has committed nearly $160 million to the federal JobTrainer program in a bid to help people to reskill for future employment in a range of sectors.
Under this initiative, you may be eligible for FEE-FREE nationally accredited training.
Eligibly for Skilling for Recovery
To be eligible for Skilling for Recovery funded training you must be:
- Aged 15 years or older
- Not at school (excluding home schooled students)
- Living or working in NSW
- An Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder
In addition to the above eligibility criteria, a student must also meet one of the following criteria:
- Be 17-24 years of age (regardless of employment status); or
- Be unemployed, or
- Be in receipt of a Centrelink benefit (as specified on the Smart & Skilled funding page); or
- Be at risk of unemployment
JobTrainer is a jointly funded initiative of the Commonwealth, state and territory governments.
