ECE RPL Information flyer

The Early Childhood Education and Care Recognition of Prior Learning (ECERPL) upgrade initiative has been developed for educators with outdated Certificate III qualifications to achieve the newest qualification that meets the entry requirements for the current Diploma qualification. This initiative is funded by the NSW Department of Education and Training. Supporting skills development for existing workers is an excellent way to retain valued and qualified staff.

The ECEC RPL upgrade initiative will use an on-line RPL assessment tool that has been developed to streamline the evidence collection process for students and their employers whilst assisting providers to facilitate the RPL process.

The initiative will support existing educators to:

  • Upgrade outdated qualifications
  • Attain the CHC30121 Certificate Ill in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Meet pre-requisite requirements for the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Educator Entry Requirements

  • Be currently working as an Educator in a NSW Early Childhood Service (excluding Family Day Care)
  • Hold an ACECQA approved Certificate Ill Educator equivalent qualification or;
  • Educators impacted by a recent RTO provider closure and have attained a minimum of 13 units of competency from the CHC30113 Certificate Ill Early Childhood Education and Care.
