ECTARC Sanctuary Point Education and Care Service
ECTARC Sanctuary Point is a 40-place service providing early childhood education and care for children from birth to school age in Sanctuary Point on the shores of St. Georges Basin. We are only a short drive from Jervis Bay and the coastal villages of Huskisson and Vincentia, and are ideally located within walking distance of many local facilities such as shops, library, a bike park and Sanctuary Point Public School.
We provide quality education and care for many families located in our surrounding towns and we have a strong commitment to providing a smooth transition to primary school, ensuring a continuity of learning for each child. We are always warm, friendly and welcoming and boast a strong connection within our community, seen in the beautiful relationships we build with our families. We value each family’s uniqueness and enjoy spending time with them to get to know them to help us provide an environment that is happy, secure and meaningful.
Learning environments are purposely designed to support quality teaching and learning experiences that foster each child’s development. ECTARC Sanctuary Point has an extensive outdoor environment which has been recently upgraded and includes a dry creek bed, terraced gardens for exploring nature and plenty open space for running, ball games and riding bikes. Within the outdoor environment there is a dedicated play space for the younger children birth to five years.
We engage in shared decision making with the families with the aim of supporting their child’s learning, development and well-being. This engagement with the families, along with the educators’ knowledge in child development forms a curriculum guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and we endeavour to create opportunities for each child to experience success for their future educational journey of lifelong learning and develop a strong sense of being, belonging and becoming.
We are committed to self-assessment, continuous improvement, and critical reflection, so that we can continue to improve outcomes and provide the best practice in our early education and care environment.
