STEM in early childhood – why it matters!

STEM in early childhood – why it matters!

STEM refers to the collective learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and involves applying problem solving and critical analysis using an integrated approach. These are in-depth concepts to foster in young children, but with thoughtful, intentional teaching and purposeful environments, these can be investigated daily.  This workshop will explore the creative thinking processes within STEM and look at strategies to support young children’s development and learning. By examining the cross-disciplinary approach, participants will be able to reflect on current and new practices to ensure early childhood programs foster the necessary skills and dispositions children will benefit from in the 21st century.
