National Quality Framework
ACECQA – Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority
ACECQA is an independent statutory authority that provides national leadership in promoting quality and continuous improvement in early childhood education and care and school age care in Australia.
ACECQA’s site is the archive of resources from the former National Childcare Accreditation Council.
The National Quality Framework includes:
- a national legislative framework that consists of the Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations
a National Quality Standard - an assessment and rating system
- a regulatory authority in each state and territory who will have primary responsibility for the approval, monitoring and quality assessment of services in their jurisdiction in accordance with the national legislative framework and in relation to the National Quality Standard.
- the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQ).

Munch & Move
The Munch & Move program aims to promote and encourage children’s healthy eating and physical activity and reduce small screen recreation. Through Munch & Move NSW early childhood educators have the opportunity to attend a full day training program that assists them to implement a fun, play-based approach to supporting healthy eating and physical activity habits in young children. The Munch & Move training program fits within the new National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework. The program is a NSW Health initiative with support from the NSW Department of Human Services (Community Services) and the Local Health Districts.
