About the Service

Warilla Education and Care Service is a 28 place service which is managed by ECTARC on behalf of the Illawarra Women’s Health Service. Our service is located in the heart of Warilla, nestled amongst local community services. We offer both occasional and emergency care (charged at an hourly rate), and permanent regular positions for children aged between birth – 5 years of age.

Our educators build secure attachments with the children & families enrolled in the service that support children to feel safe, secure and valued.  The service is inclusive to all children and families and are sensitive to & respectful of promoting a greater understanding of Australia’s Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultures.   Educators value play in encouraging children’s learning, thinking, imagination, & communication; & understand how important play is for children to develop trust & form friendships with peers.

Warilla Education and Care Service implements the Positive Partnerships project, a funded program through Communities for Children Shellharbour.  Through the program the service employs a Child and Family Practitioner, whose role is to provide support for families and their parenting. The service also works closely with a multidisciplinary team (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist) from Noah’s Inclusion Service who visit weekly. They support the developmental needs of children’s by working alongside educators, building their capacity to ensure children’s everyday learning environments are optimal

About the Role

Warilla is seeking an experienced educator who holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to work as part of a passionate and capable team committed to enriching the futures of young children. In collaboration with others, you will plan and implement high-quality educational, innovative, and inclusive programs, whilst also establishing relationships with families to ensure best outcomes for young children.

An educator’s role is very rewarding, providing children with the best possible start for lifelong learning. You will be working with a dedicated team, families, and the local school and community, including a range of external stakeholders to provide optimum education and care outcomes for young children.

Essential Criteria:

    • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent or working towards
    • A Working with Children Check clearance number.
    • Current approved first aid qualification for early education and care HLTAID012
    • Completed an approved child protection Statement of Attainment
    • Experience working in early childhood services.
    • Demonstrated ability to undertake the role of Responsible Person on Duty
    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current early childhood theories and practice & children’s services legislation.
    • Demonstrated high level of ethical and professional behaviour, including collaboration and confidentiality.
    • A commitment to practicing ECTARC values every day.
