What is it like to work for ECTARC?

Hear what a few members of our team have to say about working in our organisation.

Over the past year I have been lucky enough to complete my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at ECTARC Alunga Education and Care Service. I have received a tremendous amount of support during my studies from both management and my team. I have gained such a wealth of knowledge and I am grateful to have been able to enter the Early Childhood Sector surrounded by some of the most encouraging and inspiring educators. I am excited to begin my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care traineeship with ECTARC Jerry Bailey Education and Care Service.

Tahliah Duck – Trainee/Educator
Finalist for Trainee of the Year 2021, Illawarra and South East NSW Region
ECTARC Jerry Bailey Education and Care Service

I was recently appointed as the Director of ECTARC Keiraview Education and Care Service and have received continuous support and encouragement as I learn and adjust to new policies, practices and team culture. Feeling a genuine sense of being welcomed into the organisation by Management, other directors and the team has enabled me to smoothly transition in the role. I work with confidence and the knowledge that there is a strong team of professionals guiding and underpinning me every day.

Charise Orvad – Director
ECTARC Keiraview Education and Care Service

I have worked for ECTARC for the past 30 years as an Early Childhood Educator and more recently as a Project Officer. ECTARC has provided many professional development and networking opportunities for me to grow, expand my knowledge and foster positive relationships with other educators. ECTARC promotes a sense of belonging and I am proud to be a part of that.

Donna Bartley – Project Officer
ECTARC Training Services

I have been fortunate enough to have worked for ECTARC for the past 5 years. As an Early Childhood Teacher, ECTARC has given me the opportunity to full fill the role as Educational Leader. In this role I am supported by ECTARC by attending network meetings and provided with professional development opportunities to help strengthen my knowledge as an educator. As the Educational Leader at ECTARC Alunga Education and Care Service I am able to guide and support my fellow educators to provide an educational program which fosters all children’s development, strengths and individual needs. ECTARC provides a happy, safe and nurturing environment for all children, families and educators and I am proud to be a part of this.

Emma Peachman – Early Childhood Teacher and Educational Leader
ECTARC Alunga Education and Care Service

ECTARC encourages a positive team culture. In my role as an Early Childhood Worker, I am supported by the strong team of educators. I have received mentoring from leaders within the team that has enabled me to learn new skills and from this was encouraged to take on the role of the service’s Wellbeing Champion. Through this I have been supported to follow my passion and promote self-care practices that create a mentally healthy community within both the service and organisation.

Ebony Ward – Early Childhood Worker

I discovered a passion for the Early Childhood sector over 18 years ago, as a trainee for ECTARC. Through the years I have progressed within ECTARC from a Certificate lll to a Diploma trained educator. Whilst embarking on my personal development and study, I found wonderful support and mentoring from my Director, colleagues, and management. Whilst working for ECTARC I have had the opportunity to grow through professional development opportunities, as well as embracing roles within the organisation from WHS Representative, Educational Leader, and 2IC/Responsible Person. My passion is centred on being instrumental in making a difference to the lives of the children, families, and other educators in our community.

Kelly Hobbs-Middleton – Early Childhood Educator

I love being a trainee at ECTARC The Basin in Sanctuary Point. I am supported by all the staff and the entire ECTARC community. I was a stay at home mother for 10 year before starting the traineeship and I have been welcomed and encouraged from my first day. I love coming to the centre every day and have made wonderful friends with the staff and strong bonds with the children. I am looking to furthering my career in early childhood education and I am excited about my future thanks to ECTARC traineeship.

Soleil Smith – Trainee/Educator
