About the Role

The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and the role will provide:

  • support to families attending the service including outreach support to other community/early intervention services.
  • support vulnerable children, young people, and their parents through intensive casework, crisis management, and family preservation programs
  • support and build the capability of the educators to enhance relationships with families, sensitively discuss children’s development and access to early intervention services.
  • provide advice and support to educators to strengthen their capacity to support child and family wellbeing within the education and care setting.
  • training, coaching and mentoring of educators to strengthen the implementation of trauma informed practice, the Circle of Security (CoS) and attachment theory at the service.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood, Social Science or other relevant Community Service qualification
  • Approved Child Protection Statement of Attainment
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and families in one of the following – early childhood, child related social work, family support or case work
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Diplomatic and able to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Reliable, proactive and child focused
  • Demonstrated high level of ethical, professional behaviour including collaboration and confidentiality
  • Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborative relationship with the EC management team
  • A clear understanding of issues pertaining to child protection, children at risk and mandatory reporting responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key local child and family services and participate in local interagency networks to meet client needs.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy using Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, email and the internet
  • A commitment to practicing ECTARC values every day
