About the Service

ECTARC Alunga is a 44-place service providing early childhood education and care for children from birth to school age in Albion Park Rail.

The service practices the Circle of Security relationships model to develop partnerships with children and families based on mutual trust and respect.  They are committed to quality outcomes for children and advocate for learning through play in an environment where they feel safe, valued and included.  Educators work collaboratively to implement teaching strategies that are responsive to children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

ECTARC Alunga is an active participant in the Enriching Language through Practice project, a funded program through Communities for Children Shellharbour.  This project focuses on the 3a -Abecedarian Approach, which places a priority on children’s language. The project builds a shared language approach to advance children’s learning outcomes by strengthening the relationship between families and educators to engage in active feedback and the sharing of information with each other about children’s language/communication skills and development. In conjunction with this the service is an active member of the Paint Shellharbour REaD.

About the Role

ECTARC Alunga is seeking an experienced educator who holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to work as part of a passionate and capable team committed to enriching the futures of young children. In collaboration with others, you will plan and implement high-quality educational, innovative and inclusive programs, whilst also establishing relationships with families to ensure best outcomes for young children.

An educator’s role is very rewarding, providing children with the best possible start for lifelong learning. You will be working with a dedicated team, families, and the local school and community, including a range of external stakeholders to provide optimum education and care outcomes for young children.

Essential Criteria:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
  • A Working with Children Check clearance number
  • Current approved first aid qualification for early education and care HLTAID004
  • Completed an approved child protection Statement of Attainment
  • Experience working in early childhood services
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake the role of Responsible Person on Duty
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current early childhood theories and practice & children’s services legislation
  • Demonstrated high level of ethical and professional behaviour, including collaboration and confidentiality
  • A commitment to practicing ECTARC values every day
